Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG) is the world's leading manufacturer and remanufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets. Today, ECG has four facilities throughout PA. We are currently seeking a non-exempt position of Staff Accountant at Ellwood Crankshaft & Machine (ECM) in Hermitage, PA and will support all ECG facilities as needed. Overtime work will be mandatory, as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related discipline
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting theory/GAAP
- A strong continuous improvement orientation and desire to grow in skills and career
- Ability to identify job obstacles and use creativity to develop alternative solutions
- Excellent computer skills with ability to use all Microsoft Office products
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Detail oriented with ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level and perform with minimal supervision
- Proven experience in decision making and problem-solving skills
- Periodic regional and/or overnight travel required (<5%)
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:
- Assist, back-up or be directly responsible for various aspects of Financial Accounting, which could include the general ledger, journal entries, month-end closing, reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and other financial analysis as needed
- Assisting with the annual physical inventory to verify valuation and reconciliation adjustments
- Provide assistance in throughput and gross margin analysis
- Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting procedures and internal controls
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
- Track capital spending and major repairs budget
- Maintain control and integrity of the Syteline ERP system
- Reconcile intercompany transactions
- Generate financial reports for ECG departmental managers
- Assist with inventory control including variance reporting
- Assist in maintaining a system of accounting policies and financial control procedures to ensure company assets are adequately safeguarded, and that appropriate corporate governance procedures and controls are implemented
- Perform other special projects for the finance and accounting department as needed
- Perform all other necessary duties, responsibilities, and projects, as needed
- Performing other duties as deemed necessary
