SUMMARY The Financial Reporting Supervisor will be primarily responsible for the SEC and regulatory financial reporting to meet the requirements of publicly traded companies. This position reports to the Manager of Financial Reporting. Assist in managing all aspects of external reporting processes, including preparation of the SEC documents, review of the information received from business units, corporate accounting, research, recommendation and documentation of technical accounting issues, and various special and other projects covering all aspects of financial reporting. Lead implementation of new accounting standards. ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures for use in SEC filings.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, all quarterly and annual financial information.
- Assist with research and documentation of technical accounting and financial reporting requirements under GAAP and SEC using all available tools, perform primary thinking, recommend disclosure requirements and accounting treatment for complex transactions based on such research.
- Lead XBRL tagging of the 10K and 10Q financial statements.
- Prepare cash flow statements involving local and international locations.
- Perform analysis of critical accounts and balances.
- Perform variance analysis on periodic financial statements.
- Perform accounting, recording journal entries and prepare disclosures related to derivative financial instruments, including commodity hedge contracts, interest rate swap instruments and foreign currency hedge contracts.
- Prepare monthly internal management report.
- Assist with other SEC filings.
- Lead preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Lead preparation of benefit plan financial statements.
- Lead preparation of Government Surveys.
- Assist with preparation of other compliance reports.
- Prepare guarantors financial statements for the 10K and 10Q filings.
- Assist in the coordination and support of the annual audit and quarterly review activities between various accounting and finance functions and the external auditors.
- Monitor and identify major performance areas for enhancement via computerization and/or paper flow.
- Remain abreast of changes in currently accepted accounting principles versus the Company's accounting methods to ensure compliance and changes that may be advantageous to the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent is required.
- CPA Certification is required.
- Eight plus years of progressive financial reporting (including SEC reporting) experience in both public accounting and the private sector is critical, preferably with a chemical or refinery company. Public accounting experience is required.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge of SEC reporting and GAAP.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability in researching and documenting new accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of complex issues.
- Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization.
- Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, employee development and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems including SAP and SAP BPC is critical to the position. Knowledge of J.D. Edwards accounting systems is preferred.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel (required).
- Able to work across multiple cultures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
