ANS Camp Counselor

Job Summary

Camp counselors deliver a fun, safe, educational day camp program, supervising children ages 5-12 with kindness and positivity. Staff are part of a collaborative, solutions-focused team, and learn more about the natural world in order to inspire participants to care for it.

Essential Functions

• Oversee participant well-being.
• Lead small group educational activities and museum exploration.
• Manage supplies to assist camp leaders with activity development and delivery.
• Assist camp staff with check-in and check-out protocols.
• Assist camp staff with adhering to health and safety protocols, including sanitization of shared supplies and spaces.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of HS Diploma or GED in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children in formal or informal settings.
• Red Cross First Aid and Epipen Trainings (ANS will cover the cost of the courses).
• FBI Fingerprinting, PA background check, and Child Abuse Clearances.
• Adherence to Drexel coronavirus protocols, including vaccination policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interest in education, teaching or interpretation.
• Strong interest in natural history, science or museum studies.
• Available June 17 to September 9, 8:30 a.m-5 p.m.

Additional Information

This is a Full-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
