Job Tittle: Senior Databricks Developer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Developer with demonstrable ability to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Databricks Unity Catalog Admin, Databricks CLI, Amazon S3, Python, Databricks SQL, Databricks Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows, and PySpark. Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of data solutions using Databricks Unity Catalog Admin, ensuring data governance and security.
  • Oversee the use of Databricks CLI for efficient management and automation of Databricks resources.
  • Provide expertise in Amazon S3 for scalable storage solutions and integration with Databricks.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing and analysis tasks.
  • Utilize Databricks SQL to build and optimize queries for data retrieval and reporting.
  • Support existing code base across various environments and improve based on tickets.
  • Provide L3 support of the applications' part of Databricks + PySpark, Python, AWS.
  • Ensure failures/bends are handled and fixes applied.
  • Work with the team on defect fixes.
  • Handshake with offshore.
  • Implement and handle Databricks Delta Lake for reliable and high-performance data lakes.
  • Design and orchestrate data workflows using Databricks Workflows to ensure detailed data pipelines.
  • Apply PySpark for large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve data solutions.
  • Give to the company's mission by delivering high-quality data solutions that drive business insights and impact society positively.
Qualifications:
  • Must have proven track record in relevant technical skills including Databricks Unity Catalog Admin, Databricks CLI, Amazon S3, Python, Databricks SQL, Databricks Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows, and PySpark.
  • Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a hybrid work model.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work efficiently with cross-functional teams.
  • Consistent record of delivering high-quality data solutions on time.
  • Ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to data integrity.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 to $109,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
