Job Summary The LIBERTY Solutions Field Sales/Applications Engineer (FSAE) is a sales-driven role responsible for selling and promoting our LIBERTY Software-Defined Instrument (SDI) products and solutions. As a key player in driving revenue growth, the FSAE plays a key role in the sales cycle, from identifying opportunities, engaging with customers, assisting in closing deals, and ensuring successful adoption of LIBERTY solutions. This role is first and foremost a sales position, requiring the ability to build strong relationships, influence technical decision-makers, and convert opportunities into sales. The FSAE will actively seek out new business, qualify leads, and develop strategies to increase market penetration to grow LIBERTY's customer base. Beyond sales, the FSAE provides expert technical guidance, working as a trusted advisor to help customers integrate and optimize LIBERTY products. By understanding customer challenges and pain points, the FSAE positions LIBERTY solutions as the best-fit option, demonstrating value and ensuring long-term success. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with TEVET's R&D and product teams to align customer needs with innovative solutions, ensuring a seamless sales-to-implementation process. Through a combination of technical acumen and sales expertise, the FSAE plays a critical role in expanding LIBERTY's market presence and achieving aggressive sales targets. Key Responsibilities The primary role of the Field Sales/Applications Engineer (FSAE) is to drive sales growth by actively engaging with customers, identifying opportunities, and positioning TEVET's LIBERTY Platform as the best solution for their needs. As both a trusted sales advisor and technical expert, the FSAE not only provides exceptional technical support but also proactively influences purchasing decisions by demonstrating the value and competitive advantage of LIBERTY solutions. Acting as a customer advocate and strategic sales partner, the FSAE fosters strong relationships, aligns customer needs with TEVET's offerings, and ensures successful adoption-ultimately contributing to the growth and success of both the customer and TEVET. 1. Sales & Market Engagement
- Sales Pioneer for LIBERTY: As a dedicated sales representative for the LIBERTY Platform, this role is responsible for contributing to the sales strategy in collaboration with sales management, identifying initial customers, and building a sustainable sales pipeline.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings, using this knowledge to position LIBERTY as a next-generation software-defined instrument that addresses multiple markets and functions.
- Lead Generation & Business Development: Proactively identify and engage potential customers, develop relationships, and build the foundation for LIBERTY's market expansion across various industries.
- Trade Shows & Industry Representation: Serve as one of the representatives of LIBERTY at trade shows, conferences, and customer engagements, working alongside with management and technical leadership to deliver impactful messaging, conduct demos, and generate leads.
2. Customer Engagement & Solution Selling
- Establishing Key Customer Relationships: Act as a trusted sales and technical resource, working closely with customers to understand their unique challenges and demonstrating how LIBERTY's software-defined approach provides a flexible, scalable solution.
- Customer Needs & Market Positioning: Develop a deep understanding of customer pain points and technical requirements, ensuring that LIBERTY is positioned as the next-generation instrument of choice for their specific applications.
- Solution-Based Selling & Closing Deals: Work closely with prospective customers to assess their needs, develop tailored solutions using the LIBERTY Platform, and influence sales from initial engagement to contract closure.
- Customer Advocacy for Future Growth: Leverage early customer feedback to fine-tune sales messaging, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies for broader adoption.
3. Internal Collaboration & Sales Alignment
- Sales Strategy Development: Work alongside leadership to define, refine, and implement LIBERTY's sales approach, supporting the foundation for future growth alongside sales leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, engineering, and product management to refine LIBERTY's competitive positioning to ensure customer success translates into sales growth.
- Contributor to Marketing Collateral: Work closely with marketing to shape technical sales materials, including white papers, case studies, presentations, and product brochures. Provide technical insights, messaging guidance, and customer perspectives to help develop compelling content.
- Customer-Driven Product Innovation: Provide valuable insights from early sales engagements to help guide feature development, pricing strategies, and future product enhancements.
- Collaborating on Sales Processes & Metrics: Work with sales management to develop and refine sales tracking mechanisms, customer engagement workflows, and performance metrics to assess LIBERTY's market penetration and revenue growth.
4. Product Demonstration, Training & Technical Influence
- Solution-Oriented Technical Demonstrations: Conduct live demonstrations, proof-of-concept tests, and product walkthroughs to showcase the capabilities, advantages, and competitive differentiation of the LIBERTY Platform across various markets and applications.
- On-Site & Virtual Customer Training: Provide technical training and application workshops, ensuring that early adopters understand how to fully leverage LIBERTY for their unique requirements.
- Field Testing & Performance Validation: Assist customers with testing and optimizing LIBERTY solutions, ensuring a seamless transition from interest to successful deployment and continued use.
- Internal Training for Future Sales Growth: Work closely with marketing and sales leadership to ensure TEVET's future sales expansion is supported by strong internal technical training and resources.
5. Post-Sales Success & Customer Retention
- LIBERTY Customer Success Initiatives: Ensure new customers achieve maximum value from their LIBERTY deployment by providing onboarding, training, and optimization support.
- Ongoing Technical & Sales Support: Act as the go-to resource for customers post-sale, ensuring satisfaction, troubleshooting technical issues, and strengthening relationships for repeat business and referrals.
- Identifying Expansion & Upsell Opportunities: Engage with customers over time to identify additional needs, offer upgrades or complementary solutions, and build a pipeline for future sales growth.
- Contributor to Customer-Facing Documentation: Work with marketing and product teams to develop user guides, application notes, and case studies that support customers while reinforcing LIBERTY's value for future sales opportunities.
Qualifications Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of combined technical and customer-facing experience in roles such as Field Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, Business Development Engineer, or Technical Sales Specialist.
- Industry Knowledge: Background in test and measurement, RF systems, embedded systems, software-defined instrumentation, or automation solutions.
- Aerospace & Defense Expertise: Experience working with or supporting the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) and Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) segments within the aerospace and defense industry. Must have a strong understanding of RF signal processing, spectrum analysis, radar systems, signal intelligence (SIGINT), or other related technologies.
- Customer Engagement: Demonstrated ability to interface directly with customers, understand their technical needs, and drive solution adoption.
- Sales & Business Development Acumen: Experience identifying and engaging prospective customers, managing sales pipelines, and driving revenue growth for technical solutions.
- Technical Communication: Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive messaging for customers, sales teams, and marketing materials.
- Security Clearance: Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
