Under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director of the Department is accountable for the clinical management of patients.
OCN or AOCN highly desired. Experience and capability to use the EPIC electronic medical record. Experience with pelvic exams and gynecologic office procedures, providing chemotherapy and survivorship services. Provides care to women diagnosed with gynecologic cancers, or who are high risk for development of a gynecologic cancer, as it relates to cancer surveillance, general health maintenance, contraception, menopause and generalized cancer screening, in a timely, professional, and friendly manner. Provides primary cancer surveillance according to published NCCN Guidelines and survivorship care to gyn oncology patients. Provides independent management of GYN Oncology and GYN complaints, including counseling, testing, diagnosis, treatment, and/or follow-up, referring patients appropriately to other physician providers as needed, in the case of issues too complex or complicated to be managed by a Nurse Practitioner. Performs health screening, orders, performs and interprets tests. Establishes medical and nursing diagnoses; orders, performs and evaluates diagnostic studies; performs and monitors therapeutic procedures (i.e., colposcopy and biopsy, endometrial biopsies, vulvar biopsies, incisional and wound care etc), assesses and/or manages follow-up plans. Performs chemotherapy services and care, including but not limited to assisting the attending physicians with writing chemotherapy orders, managing decisions regarding dose reductions, managing chemotherapy-related side effects, including evaluation of patients for emergent chemotherapy-related toxicities in the infusion center or ambulatory areas, ordering anti-emetics, growth colony stimulating factors, pain medications and other medications related to chemotherapy administration, physical examinations, ordering and interpretation of chemotherapy laboratory studies and imaging studies and referral to patients for clinical trial. Documents patient chart information as needed, including but not limited to problem identification, treatment and follow-up, chemotherapy flow sheets and other program forms as needed. Records and documents health assessment data necessary to maintain, coordinate, and/or expedite required services. Provides consultation and collaboration with and referral to physician colleagues as indicated, for high-risk medical conditions or for treatment of side effects of surgery or chemotherapy (i.e. Lymphedema Clinic, Palliative Care etc). Prescribes and regulates medications per Nurse Practitioner-Physician written agreement. Reviews daily laboratory, pathology, genetics, radiology and other reports and provides for appropriate treatment and follow-up as indicated. Reports abnormal patient findings to appropriate physician colleagues and responds accordingly. Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management, professional relationships and interpersonal interactions. Develops, conducts, and/or evaluates formal or informal in-service and continuing education programs in areas of expertise for peer groups and other disciplines. Assumes responsibility for his/her own professional development and remains current in clinical practice by attending relevant continuing education. Participates on department, functional unit, and Hospital committees, as assigned. This includes the division/department quality and safety committee and its related quality improvement projects. Pay Range $78,403.65 - $130,546.00Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
