Job Summary

The environmental coordinator is responsible for overseeing and implementing an organization's environmental policies and initiatives for Barrett Mid-West Central. They work to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, manage sustainability projects, and promote practices that reduce environmental impact. Key responsibilities may include conducting environmental assessments, developing and managing waste reduction programs, coordinating training for employees on environmental practices, collaborating with regulatory agencies, and reporting on the organization's environmental performance. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of environmental laws and sustainability principles. Effective communication and project management skills are also essential to engage stakeholders and promote awareness of environmental issues within the organization.

Education and Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field (preferred)
  • 2-3 years of experience in local, state (Ohio) and federal environmental regulations and compliance
  • Previous experience with OH environmental regulations (preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License with an excellent DMV record
Skills
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate skillset in Microsoft Programs
  • Team player with the ability to work alone for specific tasks
