Job Summary

Responsible for the purchasing and procurement of all freight incoming and outgoing for all warehouses, both domestic and international. Provides clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations. Coordinates inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities in order to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs. Supports a variety of logistical functions, including sourcing, receiving, purchasing, and dispatching. Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides support and assistance to global business units:



  • As required for emergency shipments, customs questions, supplier documents and or other information.
  • Provides support for inbound and outbound logistical operations.
  • Determines best method of shipment for satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Researches and plans the most appropriate route for a shipment (taking account of the nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security) and reports to management with questions and/or concerns.
  • Completes coordination on all shipments including preparation of all documentation, scheduling shipments with carriers, providing updates, obtaining POD's and carrier charges, and performing all necessary data entry including billing accuracy.


Performs on call duties on a rotational basis in support of global logistics:



  • Support with any and all import/ export related responsibilities. Prepar all commercial invoices and canadian commercial invoices, while preclearing all shipments in efforst to bypass delays at the boarder.
  • Support DC network with any freight related topics.
  • Partner with marketing to confirm all tradeshow product is delivered on time and in full. Coach and mentor team members around you.


Acts as interface for issues related to shipping, invoicing for forwarding agents, shipping agents, customs brokers, packers, carriers, suppliers, rig sites, area offices and corporate office:



  • Resolves issues that arise during the course of the shift; escalates actions to management as appropriate.
  • Work with carriers, dispatch/drivers, customers and teammates to resolve issues; coordinates all shipment activity.
  • Inputs orders into the Transportation Management System (TMS) timely and accurately.


Ensure on-time and accurate deliveries of required materials at lowest total system cost



  • Know and monitor associated flight, visa, training and transportation costs and escalate to Line Manager / Cost Control team if changes occur.
  • Coordinates inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities in order to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
  • Ensures service commitments are achieved and maintained in accordance with client and company objectives.
  • Tracks all shipments on a daily basis to ensure on time pickup and delivery.

Qualification Requirements

Minimun Education:Requires a level of knowledge normally gained through completion of an undergraduate degree

Minimum Experience:5 years experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in logistics spend management / cost control, Knowledge of Import & Export regulations and HS classifications
  • Understanding of key freight forwarding concepts (Inco Terms, Bills of lading, Terms of Sale, etc)
  • Knowledge and experience of the Local logistics & Customs matters, Excellent availability for urgent matters and emergency issues
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations
  • Ability to manage different logistic projects at the same time and meet deadlines
  • Ability to figure out logistic budgets and timings and to meet them
  • Ability to charter and discuss the contracts for aircrafts or vessels
  • Ability to obtain, compare and discuss all kinds of in country transport and handling rates
