Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Cloud Engineer for the following opportunity:
  • Responsible for participation in technical research, analysis, and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements.
  • Document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results.
  • Depicts complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; communicates project objectives, scope and status to project teams.
  • Able to write and update hosting related technical documentation foundational to multi-cloud tenancy configurations.

Minimum of 5-years of experience in the cloud engineering field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide expertise, decision support, and support for meetings and working group sessions with DOD, Federal, and Industry Partners.
* Provide technical review support for DLA project related data collection to ensure accurate information is being reported for each application in DLA and other DOD collection tools.
* Assist in determining technical footprint required for each application or service based on current and future environments in preparation of migration to approved hosting environments.
* Provide consulting assistance for server and network configurations and/or Operational Technology (OT) systems.
* Produce technical diagrams of environments and corresponding network design to be utilized in concept of operations, technical artifacts, briefings, etc.
* Provide recommendations to application stakeholders on load balancing and high availability design of environment/applications.
* Prepare information, decision briefs, and other correspondence for management action/decision
* Provide expertise and recommendations on optimal technological solutions to support Continuity of Operations (COOP) and disaster recovery.
* Advise on optimal configurations of cloud resources with respect to colocation of databases and webservers and best use cases of Azure SQL.
* Analyze and validate end-user connectivity requirements, including ports/protocols, bandwidth usage, usage patterns, encryption/tunnel requirements to be in compliance with DOD approved hosting providers - Determine both as-built and to-be application connectivity requirements.
* Maintain, enhance and improve collaboration tools to ensure applicability and usability for all stakeholders.

Job Qualifications:
Requires at least one industry Cloud certification(s): AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking, AWS Data Analytics, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations, Oracle Cloud Data Management Foundations, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Foundations, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Professional, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Security Professional, Oracle Cloud Database Service Professional, Oracle Cloud Database Migration and Integration Professional, OCO Observation and Management Professional, Oracle Cloud Platform Enterprise Analytics Professional, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Development Associate, Azure for SAP Workloads, Azure AI Engineer Associate.

Additional Skills:
* Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Identifies potential problems and solutions through analysis identifying recommended solutions.
* Ability to analyze cloud documentation to determine if updates are necessary and have the ability to work autonomously to update them in a timely manner.
