Introduction

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking a professional, talented and highly motivated individual for the full-time Inmate Accounts Coordinator position located at the Adult Detention Center.

Job Summary

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
* Utilizes anti-fraud technology to prevent authorized transactions.
* Processes information pertaining to inmate commissary orders.
* Makes payments to contractors and other businesses.
* Ensures Compliance with Laws and Regulations.
* Performs Financial Accounting for multiple accounts and assists in the year-end closing process for all accounts.
* Researches and resolves payment issues such as Inmate Room and Board fees and Inmate Commissary purchases.
* May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.

Hiring salary commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in accounting or related field; two (2) years of related work experience in assigned or related department; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The ideal candidate will have the preferred skills and qualifications:
* Must have acute attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* Must have the technical skills, the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly, accurately, and effectively.
* Knowledge of basic theory, principles, and practices of accounting and financial reporting.
* Ability to create reports related to accounting, expenditures, and financial projections.
* Ability to operate standard office machines, such as a personal computer and copier, and to perform tasks using the appropriate software, and spreadsheet programs.
* Ability to perform physical tasks required for designated duties.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Selection process includes review of the Applicant Screening Questionnaire and County employment application, in-person interview(s), and an intensive background investigation to include fingerprinting, credit check, driving record, and polygraph examination.
