Job Summary:

The Calibration Associate II is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurement instruments and equipment used in Supernus laboratories. Incumbents in this role are responsible for performing routine calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Calibrates and reviews calibrations for a variety of laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLCs, dissolution units, Karl Fisher units, environmental chambers).
  • Submits service provider quotations for approval.
  • Contacts service providers for scheduling activities.
  • Reviews routine preventative maintenance of laboratory instruments.
  • Reviews qualification documents for laboratory instrumentation.
  • Initiates deviations as needed for calibration failures or missed maintenance activities.
  • Document activities in accordance with Good Documentation Practices and ALCOA+.
  • Creates or updates written procedures (SOPs) concerning calibration and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ensures that calibration and preventative maintenance activities are completed by assigned due dates.
  • Initiates change controls as needed for repairs or other equipment changes.
  • Reviews contractor documentation for services provided.
  • Participates in troubleshooting of equipment or software issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or relevant technical school training/ certification with two years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience working with GMP or instrument calibrations is required.
  • Experience working with qualification or quality management systems is preferred.
  • Good documentation practices, an understanding of ALCOA+, and working knowledge using Microsoft Office suite packages including word, outlook, and excel.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written procedures.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • This position may require prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, bending, and some kneeling/crouching.
  • Position also requires the ability to push, pull, drag and/or lift to 20 pounds.
  • Position requires manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination as well as repetitive hand movement using a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Will be required to work in a clean laboratory environment and wear personal protective equipment to include at a minimum: safety glasses or goggles, and lab coat.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $54,000 to $72,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

Base salary is one part of the overall compensation package, which includes the opportunity to participate in employee stock purchase programs and performance-based bonus programs.
