ABOUT THE JOB

The AGRIntelligence (AI) Specialist is responsible for supporting the branch location sales team with AI products and services including delivering, communicating and presenting these products and services to customers with the assistance of Helena's sales team. This position also trains and assists the support team in implementing precision information technologies including reviewing and performing the necessary quality control on AI products created for customers. This role oversees the AI Technicians at the branch locations.

This position is part of Helena's trademarked AI program. This business was created to help guide growers' business decisions and help them identify potential problems in the field before they take root. Our AI group focuses exclusively on creating new and innovative technologies to boost yields and leave a lasting impact on farms for generations to come.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE




  • Conducts field data collection such as soil sampling, Electrical Conductivity (EC) data collection, yield monitoring and other tasks related to information management services.
  • Researches and evaluates new digital farming and information management services along with other technologies.
  • Reviews and performs quality control on AI products created for customers.
  • Assists the sales team with the positioning and selling of AI products and services by allowing the Sales Representatives to lead and manage the customer account.
  • Ensures that AI products and services meet company standards and requirements.
  • Communicates and interacts with the Branch Manager, sales team, AI field support team and other AI team members on a regular basis to meet customer deadlines and expectations.
  • Ensures that work and follow-up has been completed on all the AI offerings that Helena has sold.
  • Provides technical training and support to the Helena team and customers who are utilizing AI branded products/services, AI360 or other related products/services.
  • Facilitates communication between connected devices and the AI360 system.
  • Serves as the primary source of all AI field work such as soil sampling, tissue sampling, EC data collection work, setting field boundaries, etc.
  • Works as the liaison between the branch, AI Agronomist and AI Product Manager in all matters related to AI services.
  • Assists the branch in all service-related sales including seed treating and other services.
  • Performs and facilitates teaching activities on the use of AI360 and other agronomy related field and office software.
  • Performs analysis on field data to determine field management strategies and makes field and crop recommendations based on the results.
  • Trains and assists location team on AI products/services including gathering soil samples using GIS technology and training in the use of electrical conductivity equipment (i.e. Veris, Dualem, EM38) and other telemetry systems and software.
  • Serves as the key contact and liaison for hardware and software issues including providing troubleshooting assistance to the locations and farmers in the operation of precision agriculture hardware and other hardware components.
  • Ensures that all data collected through the functions of the job are safely and securely transferred to the Field Support Center for timely processing.
  • Assists and supports the installation of precision agriculture equipment such as VR hardware, yield monitors, telemetry hardware/software, computers and software at the locations, in the farmers' fields and in application equipment.
  • Encourages thorough data collection among users and customers of AI systems in order to be prepared for future opportunities and offerings.
  • Communicates market intelligence and competitive threats to BU leadership.
  • May manage others, currently or in the future, based on customer demands for AGRIntelligence services.
  • Required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by your leader.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience or no degree and five years of related work experience is required.



SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS




  • General understanding of geography, GIS, GPS systems and other agronomy related software is required.
  • Ability to travel by various means up to 30-35% is required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable asset at Helena.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
  • Applicants for positions requiring any driving of a vehicle of any type on a roadway, must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.



Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position will be in an office setting and outdoors in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, you could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
