Job Location: Atlantic Council Headquarters - Washington, DC Description The Atlantic Council seeks a creative, motivated, and hard-working intern to support the administrative and programmatic activities in a dynamic environment of the Rafik Hariri Center & Middle East Programs. The intern will work across the Center's multiple thematic and regional teams including regional security, climate change, economics and healthcare, Women's economic empowerment, regional integration, Iran, Syria, Iraq and North Africa. The ideal candidate will be remarkably well organized and detail-oriented and will have experience in administration, communication and event execution and logistics. We encourage our interns to actively engage with events, publications, and strategies of the center. This position will expose the candidate to the writing and editing process for publications and articles, logistical elements of event planning, and the creation of strategic initiatives within a think tank. Interns are also highly encouraged to pursue their own research projects, write and publish their own policy briefs or blog posts. The ideal candidate for the intern position is at least a college junior, graduate student or recent graduate in good standing studying international relations, politics, foreign policy or related field. Demonstrable interest in the Middle East and North Africa, international relations, foreign policy, building peace and regional security, and unlocking the region's human potential though classwork and/or experience are strongly preferred. Successful candidates will have a passion for the work, an entrepreneurial ethos, and a collegial spirit while also being an effective communicator and open to learning and growing in an organization. This internship is fully on-site at our Washington, DC headquarters. Interns will be compensated at a rate of $17.75 per hour. Job Responsibilities
