Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Informatics Manager, the Clinical Informatics Specialist manages the clinical technology applications of the organization to support patient care while optimizing workflow efficiency.

This is a full time position based at our Corporate Office located in Woodbury, MN. Monday - Friday Schedule of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (subject to change) with occasional on call coverage.



  • Provides continuous system consulting and overall application management, including system configuration, acceptance testing, and follow up support and training as it related to assigned clinical technology applications.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of user workflows and processes as well as mastery of assigned applications in order to support effective and efficient workflows and optimal system utilization by users.
  • Makes recommendations regarding efficiency improvement opportunities through training and education, and facilitates training to key users for assigned applications.
  • Helps to lead successful upgrades of the systems by managing system configuration, performing acceptance testing, and follow up support and training, as needed.
  • Manages and allocates resources to multiple projects, addressing issues and escalating as appropriate.
  • Leads, serves, and contributes to various organizational committees.
  • Collaborates with organizations training department to develop and maintain documentation and training materials to support new and existing users.
  • Participates in continuous skill development in the clinical technology and applications catalogue.
  • Helps lead communications between IT and other operational groups and/or project sponsors/managers with the goal of achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Acts as a key resource within teams responsible for the exploration, analysis and selection of clinical computing systems in assigned areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Summit's hiring range for this position is $80,444 to $100,556 per year. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation. If you are hired at Summit, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
