The MBA/Graduate Development Intern will support the Utility-Scale East Development Business Development function with M&A diligence, portfolio optimization, management, and strategy.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct competitor research and analysis to identify market trends and opportunities, supporting business activities and strategic initiatives critical to RWECE's growth
  • Analyze US power market fundamentals and policies to provide actionable insights that inform business priorities and align with RWECE's strategic objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and stakeholders to support ongoing projects, ensuring alignment across departments and contributing to impactful outcomes
  • Develop materials and presentations for Executive Leadership, synthesizing key findings and actionable recommendations to guide decision-making at the highest level
  • Work collaboratively with team members to gain practical experience, foster a high-performing culture, and contribute to the success of the Business Development team
  • Understand the fundamentals of wind, solar, and energy storage technologies with a willingness to learn daily.
  • Identify project drivers, constraints, and degrees of freedom, including, but not limited to, schedules, budgets, permitting, equipment, energy markets, and project finance.
  • Gain exposure and understand essential aspects of project management, real estate, permitting, interconnection process, environmental studies, engineering, procurement, project finance, and construction.
  • Assist with due diligence materials of M&A opportunities
  • Handle special projects and the implementation of AI systems to make the Development function more efficient

Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Undergraduate Degree with STEM preference
  • Pursuing an MBA or similar graduate degree
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in renewables, power markets, consulting, strategy, or other related fields required
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

This is a full-time 12-week summer internship starting the first week of June in our Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, or Valhalla, NY office.

Pay range:The base hourly range for this position in Illinois and New York for undergraduates is $25.00-$35.00 an hour, and for graduates is $30.00--$40.00.The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
