Role Responsibilities

The candidate will join the PIMCO Prime Real Estate Acquisition team working on direct joint venture acquisitions and debt restructuring transactions across markets, property types and the risk spectrum throughout the Americas on behalf of PIMCO funds and separate account clients. The candidate will be closely involved in all phases of the deal process, including sizing / underwriting transactions, preparing Investment Committee documents, site visits, due diligence, and crafting new strategy presentations. Travel will be required. This position will report directly to the Head of Acquisitions/Head of Special Situations Group of PIMCO Prime Real Estate in the Americas.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • 4-8 years of real estate private equity, real estate investment management or real estate finance experience, with a minimum of 2 years of property underwriting and advanced financial modeling. Investment banking and/or debt restructuring experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated US real estate commercial knowledge, and prior experience acquiring/selling office, logistics, multifamily and retail assets is strongly preferred.
  • Established relationships with institutional owner/operators and key market intermediaries
  • Experience in deal origination, underwriting, due diligence and transaction execution.
  • Experience in deal structuring, negotiating joint venture agreements, and purchase and sale agreements
  • Understanding of complex investment structures and subsequent tax implications. FIRPTA structuring familiarity
  • is a plus.
  • Proven ability to represent an institutional investor in relation to market participants.
  • Experience managing institutional investment process across various internal and external groups. Familiarity
  • working within a global organization is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in ARGUS Enterprise and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication, writing, presentation and time management skills.
  • Strong integrity and professionalism
  • Attention to detail with superior organizational skills.
  • Desire and ability to multi-task and work within an entrepreneurial, small-team work environment.
  • Four-year degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 120,000.00 - $ 135,000.00
