Overview:

Veeco's process equipment solutions enable the manufacture of LEDs, displays, power electronics, hard drives, compound semiconductors, MEMS, semiconductors advanced packaging and wireless chips. We are the market leader in MOCVD, MBE, Ion Beam, Wet Etch single wafer processing and other advanced thin film process technologies. Our high-performance systems drive innovation in energy efficiency, consumer electronics and network storage and allow our customers to maximize productivity and achieve lower cost of ownership.

Veeco continues to grow and is looking for an Electrical Engineer. This person will be a member of the Electrical Engineering team working on new and existing electrical designs. This position involves electrical control system and AC power distribution design and troubleshooting, regulatory agency documentation, and processing engineering changes. This role will report onsite three to five days per week in Horsham, PA, depending on current activity requirements.

Responsibilities:

* Participates in Engineer-To-Order (ETO), CIP, obsolescence and sustaining design activities, including engineering drawing creation and modifications, utilizing CAD & Microsoft Office tools.

* Designs and modifies electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings/specifications.

* Selects and specifies system and subsystem power and control components utilized within a semiconductor processing tool.

* Works with the Mechanical and Software Engineering groups in all phases of product development and testing.

* Interfaces with Mechanical, Software, and Process Engineering groups, along with Operations and Field Service. to address design requirements and solve customer field issues.

* Creates and releases engineering drawings and documentation through the Veeco ECO process.

* Supports Production department through hands-on troubleshooting of systems.

* Communicates and gives direction to Manufacturing personnel in support of the build process.

* Adheres to various industry operating and safety standards, including SEMI, UL, and CE.

* Aids in the creation of test plans for new feature additions.

* Supports the generation of documentation for product releases.

Qualifications:

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of related experience; or MS Degree with no experience is required. Experience designing for capital equipment systems is required. Semiconductor equipment preferred. Experience in AutoCAD is also required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

* Analog and digital design, testing and troubleshooting experience preferred.

* Knowledge of safety interlock systems and regulatory agency requirements preferred, such as TUV and Intertek.

* Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage complex projects.

* Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is preferred.

* Experience with EMI and ESD a plus.

* Experience with OrCAD and PSpice simulation a plus.

* Knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in Control Systems, Power electronics/systems.

* Ability to multi-task and work with a cross-functional team in a matrixed organization.

* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

* Effective verbal and written communication skills.

The expected salary range for this position is $75,523 - $95,663, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
