Ardelyx is a publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been submitted in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.
The Senior Director of IT Commercial Systems will lead the IT Commercial Systems team. This role is critical for the design, installation, and management of IT systems that support business needs across various commercial functions, including sales operations, marketing, managed markets, medical affairs, and insights for the enterprise. The Senior Director will also oversee the Enterprise Business Intelligence and Reporting Services group, ensuring the optimized visualization insights and reporting for the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with commercial key stakeholders to understand business challenges, collaborate on possible solutions and partner on commercial strategy roadmap
  • Oversee heavy vendor management, directing and ensuring optimized services with key vendors with a focus on cost efficiencies
  • Lead the gathering of user requirements to drive the selection of appropriate technology solutions across sales, marketing, managed markets, and insights
  • Provide strategic functional and technical insight into emerging technologies
  • Oversee the design, implementation, rollout, and management of commercial technology systems, ensuring IT architectural standards are maintained while meeting business needs
  • Lead a team of developers through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, providing technical architecture guidance, performing code reviews, and managing development tasks to meet delivery deadlines
  • Enhance and improve upon the ETL design framework and services-oriented information BUS architecture
  • Develop strategies and solutions for managing the capture, storage, security, retrieval, distribution, preservation, and destruction of enterprise data
  • Manage all budget and forecast activities pertaining to Commercial IT, Business Intelligence, and other commercial operational services, business-enabling projects, and vendors
  • Work in conjunction with security, legal and compliance teams to ensure enterprise data mapping is current and accessible for legal and regulatory purposes
  • Align the team's technology solutions with overall IT strategy, architecture, and standards
  • Act as a mentor to staff with a focus on developing career goals
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information systems or related field with 12 - 15 years of related experience
  • 8-10 years of experience implementing enterprise analytic data mart/BI solutions in complex production environments
  • 7-10 years of experience in information systems, with at least 4 years working in a business analyst or systems analyst role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Over 10 years of experience in data modeling, design, and development of databases for business applications, enterprise-level data integration, and Master Data Management (MDM)
  • 7+ years of experience working in an IT organization supporting business technology needs
  • Strong business acumen, with an understanding of business processes including financial impact assessment and ROI
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functionally and deliver projects on time and on budget that meet well-defined requirements and deliver value
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders
Location
  • Waltham, MA office-based hybrid position
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $189,000 - $231,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
Ardelyx also offers a robust benefits package to employees, including a 401(k) plan with generous employer match, 12 weeks of paid parental leave, up to 12 weeks living organ and bone marrow leave, equity incentive plans, health plans (medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision), life insurance and disability, flexible time off, annual Winter Holiday shut down, and at least 11 paid holidays.
