Summary of Position Kinsley Materials is looking for entry-level candidates with a valid CDL Class B license to join our team. Our detailed training program provides hands-on instruction to ensure you gain the skills needed to operate Concrete Mixer Trucks with confidence. No experience? No problem! As a Concrete Mixer Driver, your primary responsibility will be transporting and hauling concrete between locations. Ideal candidates must hold a valid CDL Class B license, be eager to learn, and work well as part of a team. Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Comply with all federal and state commercial driving rules and regulations.
- Maintain driving log/records according to state and federal regulations.
- Secure all loads according to state and federal regulations.
- Complete pre-post trip vehicle inspection reports.
- Drives truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer.
- Drives mixer truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement and water and starts mixer.
- Pulls levers, turns cranks, and assembles cement chutes in order to tilt body and dump contents.
- Verify types of materials as well as weight.
- Follow schedule for pickups and deliveries of materials.
- Clearly communicate with equipment operators and other truck drivers making sure materials are delivered according to the job specifications and timetables.
- May spray surfaces of truck with protective compound to prevent adhering of certain materials.
- Expected to keep truck clean including truck bed or mixer drum and in good working order.
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Commercial Driver's License Class B required.
- Must have and maintain clean driving record (MVR).
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must possess a good sense of direction.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and those contacted in the course of work.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to dispatch office.
- Must be reliable to get to work on time.
- Required dress includes safety toed shoes, PPE, shirt with minimum 3 sleeves, long pants.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs, climb, bend and stoop.
- Able to operate/maneuver transport vehicle under hopper and in/around form bed area and rough surfaces.
