STATUS: Non-exempt, regular full-time, 40 hours per week
DEPT/LOCATION: Operations - Deposit Services - Fresno, CA / Paso Robles, CA

Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility: Perform research and process transactions related to resolving exception items.

Essential Functions: With or without reasonable accommodation must be able to perform all essential job functions as described below.

  • Serve as the bank's initial point of contact for exception items.
  • Evaluate the cause of rejected deposit account transactions and determine appropriate actions to resolve.
  • Review "stop pay journal" report to identify stop pay matches and process accordingly.
  • Process large return notifications on Fedline, as required by banking regulations.
  • Finalize NSF "support decision" processing.
  • Research and process transactions on open items report.
  • Identify the daily clearing entries for the PCBB account. Inform Accounting Department of items to be cleared.
  • Identify foreign item transactions processed prior day at branches. Request the checks immediately and process each as required, on the Wells Fargo Teller Currency website.
  • Monitor redeemed savings bonds and process, as needed. Validate interest paid.
  • Print and review daily assigned general ledger reports. Research and identify action necessary to resolve general ledger clearing accounts balances.

Minimum Qualifications to Perform Essential Functions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of banking concepts and processes.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Good judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude for detail, accuracy and organization.
  • Aptitude for transaction research, analysis and evaluation.
  • Professional and service-oriented demeanor and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including internet browsers and Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions under general supervision.
  • Proficiency at speaking, reading and writing English.

Experience and/or Education:

  • Six months of related bank experience.
  • One year of experience performing "back office" deposit account activities, preferred.
