Summary
:
Travis Credit Union's (TCU) HRIS Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end administration of TCU's People (Human Resources, Learning & Development and Talent Acquisition) talent management and information systems, inclusive of delivering the People reporting and analytics that facilitate management decision-making. This role is part technical project manager, part administrator and part analyst, ensuring cohesive integration across the People divisions and platforms. TCU's HRIS Specialist delivers integrated services supporting TCU's mission of developing high performing, engaged employees to serve its members in achieving their financial goals.
Profile:
- Administers all People (Human Resources (HR)/Learning & Development (L&D)/Talent Acquisition) Information Systems and supports the People team in developing process improvements and efficiencies related to those systems. Serves as a technical subject matter expert/point-of-contact and assists other People subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. Supports People Information System upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects, as assigned. Administers end user access.
- Develops end-user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Organizes and facilitates training for system users on new processes/functionality to include web-based training.
- Develops and administers HR Metric Dashboard(s), People reporting and business unit analytics. Writes, maintains and supports a variety of reports or queries. Assists in the development of standard reports and forecasting for ongoing management needs.
- Provides support for People Information Systems including, but not limited to, researching and resolving system problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performs scheduled activities; recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements
- Recommends process/employee service improvements and innovative solutions. Creates efficiencies and streamlines processes in all People through systems functionality. Serves as a key liaison with third parties vendors and other stakeholders. Uses project management skills in managing People projects and initiatives to ensure timely and successful completion.
- Manages all vendor connections/data feeds, ensuring accurate, timely and secure exchanges of information. Configures system and technical requirements for the all People and Talent Management processes, including auditing of data feeds and updating changes.
- Maintains awareness of current trends in People Information Systems with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examines trends in information systems training, materials and techniques.
- Continuously increases HR, L&D and People Information Systems knowledge staying current with best practices and sourcing innovative trends. Participates in user group meetings/conferences.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures in order to ensure accurate system setup.
- Proficient knowledge of Talent Development platforms and systems (Saba, ADP, Adobe Suite, Zoom, WebEx)
- Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with an HRMS such as ADP WFN/payroll/eTIME, SilkRoad products and metric dashboards.
- Skilled in identifying key or important elements of the assignment, anticipating potential problems and taking steps to avoid them.
- Successful experience in learning vendor supplied tools for application configuration and support.
- Experience designing processes for the efficient support of the People applications.
- Ability to initiate, plan, execute and complete phases of projects.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of employment and benefits record-keeping requirements helpful.
- Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects and developing Gantt charts.
- Ability to partner with other departments and lead cross-functional projects through successful completion within required timeframes.
- Ability to prepare and effectively facilitate presentations and web-based training.
- Ability to learn vendor supplied tools for application configuration and support.
- Ability to understand application data models, and utilize appropriate environments (e.g. Test, Production) in support of applications.
- Ability to utilize application and desktop reporting tools at an increasing level of expertise.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms to audiences at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to prepare concise reports and documentation, including process and flow diagrams.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and vendors

- Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years previous related professional experience; or equivalent work experience.

- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new assignments.
- BA/BS in information systems, computer science or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years of HRIS or HR generalist experience.
Compensation
:Base hourly starting range is commensurate with experience.
- Assoc: HRIS Specialist: Grade 14/Non-Exempt: $32.70/hour - $43.74/hour
- HRIS Specialist: Grade 16/Non-Exempt: $38.09/hour - $51.94/hour
