The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $105,600.00 - $158,400.00

Job Description

The Technical Product Manager will ensure Craft Education's security, compliance, and internal engineering systems scale effectively by working closely with Engineering Leadership to prioritize, scope, and align internal technical investments with business needs. This role ensures that security & compliance efforts, infrastructure improvements, and internal tooling projects (e.g., AutoReg) are strategically managed and not reactive.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Security & Compliance Roadmap Ownership

  • Partner with Engineering Leadership & Security teams to prioritize and track security & compliance initiatives (SOC 2, HECVAT, NIST, etc.).
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure security & compliance work aligns with customer & regulatory needs.
  • Support Engineering in defining and communicating a clear security roadmap, ensuring transparency with leadership.

Infrastructure & Internal Systems Prioritization

  • Own roadmap planning for internal engineering investments, including DevOps, CI/CD improvements, and technical scalability projects.
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure infrastructure decisions align with product growth and scalability needs.
  • Track and communicate progress on backend and architectural improvements, ensuring business visibility into key technical work.

Engineering Workflow & Developer Experience Enhancements

  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows and reduce technical debt.
  • Support Engineering in streamlining CI/CD pipelines, automation, and developer tooling.
  • Partner with Product Ops & Engineering Leadership to remove friction from internal development processes.

Collaboration & Alignment with Engineering Leadership

This role does not dictate technical execution but works closely with Engineering Leadership to:

  • Prioritize security, infra, and automation projects based on impact.
  • Ensure business visibility into technical investments.
  • Streamline communication between Engineering and other teams (Product, Legal, Success, Sales, etc.).

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in Technical Product Management, Engineering Management, or Security/Infrastructure Product Roles.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks (SOC 2, HECVAT, NIST) and infrastructure scaling principles.
  • Experience working with Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams to manage internal technical roadmaps.
  • Ability to translate technical initiatives into business priorities and communicate trade-offs effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in B2B SaaS, EdTech, or platforms requiring high security & compliance rigor.
  • Background in developer experience, internal tooling, or technical workflow improvements.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or automation tooling (AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).

Work Location

Work location is determined by role and business needs. In addition to our headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT, we have several satellite locations across the US. Senior leadership, administrative functions, and technology teams are typically assigned to work in one of our office locations. While this position will begin with a Remote/Work-From-Home designation, this position will work "In-Office" once a dedicated space in Nashville, TN is established.

Position & Application Details
