Overview:

This internship position at Veeco Instruments will report to the Manager, Corporate Finance. This role can be done as a hybrid role but must live within commutable distance of Veeco's Planview, NY, office. Under the supervision of the Manager, the Finance Intern will execute audits of employee travel and expense (T&E) submissions using the Company's automated T&E system, Chrome River. The Finance Intern will also develop and evaluated key performance indicators to identify T&E trends and to improve audit efficiency. The Finance Intern will interact directly with many of the Company's employees as part of the T&E compliance program.The intern will work closely with the Manager of Corporate Finance and will have the opportunity to develop auditing, analytic, and communication skills.

Duration:



  • Full-time employment during the Summer (40 hours a week)



Responsibilities:



  • Support Travel & Entertainment (T&E) auditing.
  • Work daily in the Company's web-based IT solution for T&E management, Chrome River, to audit reports and assist users with issues.
  • Ensure compliance to the Company's T&E policy through the use of audit tools and programs.
  • Create reports, prepare analyses, and report results of various work activities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with external service providers.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and posts recurring journal entries and monthly accruals
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:



  • Must be at least a Sophomore enrolled in an Accounting or Finance program with at least an overall G.P.A. of 3.2 (or equivalent)
  • Strong MicrosoftExcel/Word skills required
  • Full time during the summer.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Local to Plainview, NY



The expected salary range for this position is$41,080 - $45,656, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
