Job Summary
Independently performs all duties as outlined in Neurodiagnostics Technologist level I, evoked potentials, complex NCS, and routine neurosurgical intraoperative monitoring.

What you will do
  • Performs all modalities of evoked potential recordings as outlined by laboratory protocols
    * Visual evoked potentials
    * Brainstem auditory evoked potentials
    * Somatosensory evoked potentials (median, posterior tibial, special studies as needed)
  • Performs NCS
    * Routine NCS of upper and lower extremities
    * Non-routine studies of upper and lower extremities (suprascapular, musculocutaneous, Tarsal Tunnel work up, etc.)
    * RNS
    * Knowledge of factors affecting evoked potentials and NCS assessment (age, visual acuity, hearing threshold, height, limb temperature)
  • Records clearly identifiable responses with replication. Identifies and corrects artifacts
  • Identifies and labels latencies and amplitudes of obligate waveforms.
  • Performs routine neurosurgical intraoperative monitoring
    * Lumbar and cervical EMG monitoring
    * Screw stimulation
    * SSEP and MEP monitoring
    * Knowledge of anesthesia effect on waveforms
    * Develops good rapport with neurosurgical team
  • Trains in advanced intra-operative monitoring procedures
  • Participates in continuing education. Oversees level I technologists
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Prevea Health's mission, vision, and strategic goals

Education Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited neurodiagnostics program by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. Required
Experience Qualifications
  • 1-3 years At least 2 years of experience in neurodiagnostics. Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered in EEG through ABRET, registered or registry eligible in EP, CNIM, and/or NCS. Upon Hire Required
