Responsible for in-depth patient assessment, patient interviews, home safety inspections, and specialized equipment set-up and management to support entry of and flow of patients admitted to Hospital at Home. The Hospital at Home Technician will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to facilitate care within the patient's home while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Position Responsibilities: Performs patient assessment according to established protocols. Accurately and completely documents patient assessment, progress, and clinical changes upon completion of every patient encounter. Accurately and efficiently responds to all quality assurance requests. Identifies the need for escalation of patient care and works directly with command center to coordinate patient care. Maintains all Virtua owned equipment and property in a safe, clean, and secure manner. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family or significant other. Performs various technical and non-technical duties supporting the overall Hospital at Home strategy and operations. Phlebotomy, patient identification, specimen labeling, and processing as per protocols. Position Qualifications Required: Required Experience: 1 year as an active 911 paramedic Required Education: Graduate of a recognized Paramedic Training Program Training / Certification / Licensure: Certified as a Paramedic by the Commissioner of Health & Senior Services of the State of New Jersey. Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to the professional rescuer level, American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support Successful completion of Virtua phlebotomy competency verification within 30 days of hire Must have a valid Driver's License recognized by the State of New Jersey and driving record must meet insurance company standards/ requirements. Must complete annual PPD, Fit Test, Corporate Compliance, HIPAA and Safety Day training by the date set forth by the department. | |
