Cisco's Networking team drives sales and build relationships with Cisco's largest (Fortune 500) customers. This role requires a deep knowledge of networking technologies, a strategic approach, and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles. Given the criticality, this team requires a lot of collaboration with not only Cisco customers and partners but with internal Cisco stakeholders.

What You'll Do

This pre-sale's technical role will work with the Americas Networking Organization as a Solutions Engineer with a Networking Account Executive. In addition, you will work with Portfolio account teams, partners, and other cross-functional teams to drive Cisco Networking brand preference with our customers to showcase Cisco Networking products and solutions with a focus on Secure Networking including Routing, Switching, Wireless, Meraki, Automation, lead RFP responses.

The capacity to demonstrate technical solutions and capabilities effectively and conduct multi-architectural Proof-of-Concept (PoC) tests is a must. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Partnering with Account Executives to drive business and growth opportunities.
  • Driving demand generation activities.
  • Enabling technology capabilities internally with Portfolio Account Teams and externally with our partners.
  • Understanding customer requirements and mapping technical solutions to meet the needs.
  • Network design.
  • Deep product and solution knowledge: Product positioning, differentiation across solutions, operational characteristics.
  • Performing product demos and Proof of Concept (PoC) labs.
  • Maintaining competitive knowledge to strategically position Cisco's products and services.
  • Following market transition and industry trends to anticipate customer needs.
  • Aligning cross-functionally to various business entities and teams across the company.
  • Challenger mindset willing to help customers with complex/challenging digital transformation opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Designed and implemented over 50 network designed projects over the past 3 years, each ranging from small-scale to enterprise-level
  • 3 years minimum of pre-sales process experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lead and monitor network operations for 10 large-scale organizations
  • Understanding of competitive networking products such as HPE/Aruba, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet.
  • Typically requires BS/BA (preferably EE/CS) or equivalent.
  • Cisco and non-Cisco Certifications a plus (CCIE, CCDE, CCNP, DevNet, AWS, Google, Terraform)
  • API and programmability knowledge is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to customer and partner sites as needed 35% of the time approximately.
  • Configured and optimized networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, LISP) across 20+ networks, implemented network segmentation technologies (VRF, MPLS, ZeroTrust, SDA, 802.1x, Adaptive Policy) in 15+ projects, enhancing network security
