This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the payer and government businesses by acting as a crucial link between internal support channels, the account team, and clients. It involves leveraging data-driven insights to solve diverse issues for payer and government clients, independently investigating complex problems, and assisting in managing client-related tasks and prioritizing them.

The Client Service Manager is the primary contact for daily account activity and operational needs for issue resolution in eligibility, claims, plan setup, report requests and general inquiries for their assigned clients. This position manages clients to ensure service satisfaction and renewal retention. The Client Service Manager's travel will be less than 10%.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Maintain a solid understanding of each of the assigned client businesses, their unique industries, and the services we provide them. Understand the client's needs on a day-to-day basis as well as on a strategic level and how our services benefit them
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal support and client service teams
  • Leverage relevant data and information to identify, analyze, and resolve a variety of issues for payer and government clients, ensuring comprehensive resolutions
  • Analyze and research client issues and trends. Exercise resourcefulness and creativity when handling unique or complex issues on behalf of our clients
  • Act as a liaison between the client and internal departments to resolve issues. Prioritize and organize client-related open items, presenting them in daily standup meetings to facilitate prompt and effective resolution
  • Employ advanced data analytics techniques for trend analysis, in-depth research, root cause identification, and the development of strategic solutions
  • Utilize analytical skills to monitor trends on client accounts effectively using the systems and tools available. Look for process improvements and service opportunities as a result of trends. Escalate concerning trends to management
  • Manage and/or participate in departmental projects and process improvements. Develop and/or refine processes and procedures as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience in a client service or analytical and/or account support role
  • 2+ years of experience in Benefits or Health Savings Account Administration
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with project management tools i.e., JIRA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on client satisfaction and client retention
  • Demonstrated ability managing multiple projects and ability to work cross-functionally to proactively resolve and communicate issues
  • Ability to define expectations, manage timelines and meet project deadlines

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
