Your Impact

As the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for setting the technical vision and strategy for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Solution Architecture team in the Global Enterprise & Service Provider segment.

This includes, but is not limited to, identifying expertise to strengthen the team and facilitating key partnerships between customers and internal organizations. This is an ideal position for someone who has a consistent record of building and scaling high-performance sales engineering teams and provides an opportunity to join a team with varied strengths of highly engaged critical thinkers.

  • Technology leadership: technical vision and strategy for customer CTO priorities and industry direction
  • Team leadership: Define and drive a culture that will attract and retain the best system engineering talent in the industry. Coaching, mentoring, career pathing/development within and outside the direct team.
  • Partnership with sales leadership both inside the Global Specialists Organization and the direct/portfolio teams (Global Specialist Architecture Leadership, AVP, CD/SEM, CE, RM, AM/SE, etc.)
  • Establish and execute lightweight processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness to SE team.
  • Optimize organizational structure (always happening) in partnership with Sales Leadership and align to business priorities to improve bookings and minimize operational expenses.
  • Ensure execution of all engineering programs including technical sales process/closure, demand generation, and pipeline development.
Technical and Presales Knowledge Impact
  • Clearly articulate and navigate issues, challenges and gaps both technically from a business perspective and in regards to people resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent work experience. MBA or equivalent highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience on Cisco product and services and / or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in similar domain.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with the relevant technology areas including: Cloud; Data Center; Open Source Software & Applications; IP Core/Edge Routing/Switching; Optical; Software Defined Networking, Collaboration and Security.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria, and applications.
  • In-depth understanding and experience in management of all aspects of sales support processes. Thorough understanding of organizational structures, management practices, staff development and retention.
