*Description*
UPN is now apart of Segra and is an Internet Service Provider here in Kansas City. They provide businesses with custom fiber internet networks on low-latency infrastructure. They also own all of their fiber assets - bringing businesses a stronger connection. They do not support residential clients and focus on commercial businesses. Their wide variety of clients range from large enterprises like Cerner and T-Mobile, school districts, government entities, all the way down to small ma and pa shops. Must be open to all shifts (Day, 2nd shift, Night) - THIS OPENING IS FOR THE 3rd SHIFT - 12am-8am - Tuesday-Saturday Training will be Monday-Friday day shift until they are up to speed RESPONSIBILITIES/DAILY TASKS Prefers candidates that have Networking or NOC experience. He sees a lot of success with candidates that have either the Net + and CCNA. Good with Jr Level candidates but need to have good communicate skills, attitude and a base level foundation of networking skills. The NOC consist a lot of email support compared to phone support. They will be monitoring all networks for their clients and need to respond to any alerts and customer requests. Typical work would checking ethernet issues, TCP/IP, DNS, VoIP and looking for errors and checking configurations. They have grown tremendously over the past few years, but it is still considered a smaller NOC compared to other companies like T-Mobile. This person has the opportunity to support Tier1-3 troubleshooting issues. - Directly manage network and monitor core network elements - Manage and monitor customer interfaces off of Segra's switches/routers - Off hours on-call responsibilities (rotating shift) - Maintain a constant understanding of Segra's Data network - Effectively lead and coordinate troubleshooting efforts during outages - Continuously prioritize dynamic workloads based upon the state of the network - Report directly to senior leadership on overall NOC performance. - Document overall support plans with manuals and standards. - Document specific support plans for each customer based on contracts. - Review network logs to discern state changes of network equipment - Perform remote resolution of faults through various Element Management Systems (EMS) - Creation and routing of tickets to appropriate markets for resolution - Manage monitoring, repairs, installation, and turn up of complex services. - Special projects as assigned *Skills* Noc, Network monitoring, Network operations, Troubleshooting, Support, network operations center, Change management, Organizational change management, Monitoring tools, Network connectivity, Customer service *Top Skills Details* Noc,Network monitoring,Network operations,Troubleshooting,Support,network operations center,Change management,Organizational change management *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Culture and personality is a big part of the decision that the managers will be looking for. He will be looking for someone who can ask great questions, be a team player and have ambitions to move beyond the NOC. Candidate needs to be customer focused and assist non technical customers. There is more handling tickets via email than over the phone. You will be responsible for handling all alerts from monitoring the platform, customer request, market request. Take care of Command Line Troubleshooting, looking for errors in the TCP/IP's/ethernet, checking configurations, Fiber Optics (not copper), MPLS, BGP, Layer 2/3. *Experience Level* Entry Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
