Job Summary

The VP of Engineering will be part of the JADAK leadership team and will lead the R&D and engineering teams with projects in vertical markets ranging from in vitro diagnostic, surgical navigation, surgical robotics to industrial and retail automation. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader experienced in attracting, developing, and leading talented groups of engineers and technicians.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead product development from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment with budget, timeline, and strategic goals, while fostering collaboration with Product Management and Commercial Teams.

  • Advise leadership on technology and product direction, driving innovation and growth while maintaining a customer-centric approach across the Engineering team.

  • Improve engineering throughput and quality, optimizing R&D investment returns and ensuring timely market entry for new products.

  • Build and develop a high-performing engineering team, mentoring leaders to improve discipline, quality, and accountability.

  • Collaborate with business leaders to integrate product delivery across units, ensuring alignment with business strategy and market needs.

  • Oversee cross-functional project plans, ensuring proper execution and resource allocation, and represent the company externally.

  • Drive organizational change and process improvements, refining development practices and continuously enhancing product and quality standards.

  • Contribute to the development of a robust Design and Development process to effectively meet the needs of customers in the medical device industry

  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer requirements and business goals

General Tasks:

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain safety and environmental standards in the work environment and ensure continuous improvement.

Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering

  • Systems engineering experience with knowledge of controls and software engineering

  • At least 10 years' experience in an engineering leadership position related to the design of project-based automation solutions, electro-mechanical equipment.

  • Experience working within a product-based organization

  • Experience in restructuring and change management

  • Experience in managing engineering team in multiple locations.

  • Strong technical background in machine vision, RFID, barcode, printing, or related technologies preferred.

  • Experience in the medical device or life sciences industry is strongly preferred

  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing complex projects and budgets

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated personnel leadership skills and personnel development abilities

  • Demonstrated external communications and relationship-building skills

  • Experienced in commercial capabilities and Intellectual Property matter negotiation

Travel Requirements

  • Less than 40%

Compensation and Benefits

  • The base pay for this position is $241,148 up to $331,578 per year depending on the geographic market.

  • Dependent on the position offered, annual bonuses and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package.
