Position title: Infectious Diseases Translational Researcher Salary range:
The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $129,250 - $218,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The successful candidate will facilitate clinical, translational, and/or basic research in the area of virology. The candidate will provide lectures in the ID fellow lecture series, patient-based teaching in the clinic and hospital, mentoring junior faculty, postdocs, fellows, residents, and medical students, and/or provide clinical care to patients. The appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, PhD, or MD/PhD in the area of Infectious Diseases or a related field. Candidates must also have an independent extramurally-funded research program (NIH R01 or similar). Candidates with clinical care duties must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Disease. Candidates with an MD or equivalent must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates with 5+ years of experience as a faculty advisor or educator for medical students, residents, fellows, graduate students, and/or post-graduate trainees are preferred.
