Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE
Write, update, and modify machine tool programs for
equipment such as CNC lathes, manual lathes, milling machines, boring machines,
and grinders, to machine metallic work pieces by performing the following
duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies
and procedures.
Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this
position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work
instructions.
Complies with the work rules and standards set forth in the Employee
Handbook.
Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work
sites.
Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings
which provides a positive work environment with co-workers.
Refers to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each
job, function or assignment before commencing work.
Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each
job, function or assignment.
Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in
accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific
assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of
difficulty of their job functions.
SPECFIC DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to Program equipment using G/Code to
manufacture per product specifications.
Ability to Master FUNAC, HAAS, Mazatrol, and
Okuma controls.
Ability to verify programs prior to release for
production.
Ability to edit and touch up FUNAC robotics
program.
Ability to set up, program and operate CNC
machines. Must have program
experience.
Ability to read prints or job order for product
specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions
such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines
sequence of operations.
Ability to select, position, and secure tool in
tool holder (chuck, collet, or toolpost).
Ability to position and secure work piece in
holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures.
Ability to operate bench grinder to sharpen
tools.
Ability to work as a team member in Acetylene or High
Pressure Plant.
Willingness to be trained in other operations in
the line and work at these positions when needed.
Willingness to work overtime when needed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for
successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
Ability and willingness to go to other shifts for
training and troubleshooting as needed.
Ability and willingness to train others
as needed
Capable of running all the CNC machines.
Performing production operations when other
specific tasks aren't available.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Competencies and Education
Must posses an education or experience level that
permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments
and responsibilities of the job.
High
school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, Trade/Technical school
certificate and/or two to five years related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret all documents
relating to the job, function or assignment.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to make decisions when identifying
in-process problems. Ability to deal
with a variety of job assignments.
