Job Summary: This Market Research Pricing Analyst will play a critical role in driving customer recruitment and retention, supporting the business development process, and optimizing pricing strategies for our large portfolio of products and programs. Analyze pricing data and customer behavior to develop actionable insights and implement new processes that improve efficiency and business outcomes. Collaborating closely with business development, communications/marketing, business units, and finance teams, they will create customer-centric pricing models, increase efficiencies, and enhance our competitive positioning. Success in this role will be measured by improvements in key metrics such as retention rate, revenue growth, and pricing process adoption. This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, Quality Resource Development in the Division of Executive Services. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote. The anticipated salary range for this position is $81,400 - $95,000 (commensurate with related experience). Key Responsibilities: Market Research and Analysis
- Work with internal stakeholders to conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs. Analyze data to develop insights that guide pricing strategies, program offerings, and licensing practices into actionable recommendations. Monitor product enrollment, customer behaviors, and economic trends impacting the business, including opportunities and threats. Analyze customer behavior and patterns to identify pricing or process improvements that enhance retention.
Pricing and Licensing
- Develop pricing models based on market research and financial analysis that balance competitive positioning with financial sustainability. Evaluate existing and proposed licensing agreements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and market conditions. Evaluate the cost structure of products and provide recommendations for pricing and licensing adjustments to optimize revenue and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with Quality Program teams to develop pricing models that promote customer loyalty and long-term engagement. Create tailored pricing proposals for strategic customers, aligning both with business goals and customer needs.
Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing research findings and actionable recommendations. Generate ad hoc reports from multiple data sources to provide insights and support new business/marketing initiatives and strategic decision making. Communicate data insights effectively to cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and program staff.
Business Operations
- Use data analysis to assist in the development and implementation of shared service models to improve efficiency and scalability across departments and improve the customer experience. Lead the adoption of new processes and tools across cross-functional teams ensuring smooth implementation and measurable outcomes. Collaborate with the business units to ensure products meet market needs and opportunities. Provide data to support the business case for the development of new products and initiatives.
Marketing and Business Development Collaboration
- Work closely with the communications/marketing team to ensure alignment between pricing strategies and promotional efforts. Assist in developing targeted campaigns to drive program enrollment and revenue growth. Support the business development process by providing insights, developing resources and promoting new initiatives and products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university is required. Degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field is preferred.
- 4-7 years' experience in market research, pricing analysis, or related roles in healthcare, life sciences, or medical education sectors is required. Project Management experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a track record of successful pricing and revenue growth initiatives.
- Understanding of and ability to analyze business information materials, customer needs, and business trends including customer retention metrics, and customer value analysis.
- Familiarity with customer segmentation and membership/subscription models.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL, Power BI, and CRM platforms. Ability to quickly learn new tools and datasets.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of licensing agreements and intellectual property frameworks is a plus.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in understanding and adopting new tools, methods or systems.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to effectively interact with all levels of organization. Presentation and public speaking experience and skills required.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize several tasks simultaneously to meet multiple concurrent deadlines
- Understanding of hospital accreditation/verification and quality improvement business is a plus.
