Itron is seeking a skilled and motivated Intern to join our Global Customer Support Services (GCSS) team to assist in creating and delivering technical training, documentation and videos.This intern will engage with a global customer-facing team. Duration Preference for 15 hours/wk during the academic year, 40 hours/wk during the summer. Internship to begin Spring 2025. Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with technical training team to deliver content via in person and virtual training sessions, including communicating technical information with a wide and diverse global audience Create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance and test procedures for paper, multimedia, and web-based publications Research and incorporate available engineering information such as drawings, design reports, equipment and test specifications into publications Interview product development teams, marketing teams, engineers and other technical personnel to provide accurate and comprehensive information that is appropriate for the targeted audience Use ticket tracking and document authoring tools and technology to access product information and push publication deliverables through to the release cycle Track project assignments and keep management informed of progress
Required Skills & Experience
Education: enrolled in an accredited and related degree program with completion of at least two years of college-level coursework (preference for Training, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Technical Communications, Writing, Communications, English) Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Professional workplace communication skills, including ability to communicate with stakeholders globally, and present training information Excellent, clear, clean, accessible writing; obsessive attention for consistency and technical accuracy A positive attitude, willing to jump in and tackle new challenges
PreferredSkills & Experience
Experience training and leading others Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally Knowledge of MadCap Flare Knowledge of Azure DevOps
Physical Demands This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment. This position will be tied to our Raleigh, NC location with hybrid work flexibility of 1-3 days on-site per week.
