YOUR ROLE Head of Total Rewards for North America role will lead and oversee the Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll functions across the region, and drive the development, implementation, and continuous optimization of compensation and benefits strategies, ensuring they are aligned with organizational goals, competitive in the marketplace, and compliant with all regulatory requirements. This role will also manage payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate compensation disbursements for all employees. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO Compensation Strategy & Management:
- Lead the design and implementation of competitive compensation structures for all employee levels, including base salary, incentive programs, bonuses, and equity compensation.
- Oversee the development of compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Conduct market research and analysis to ensure compensation offerings remain competitive and cost-effective.
- Partner with senior leadership to align compensation strategies with the company's overall business strategy and talent needs.
- Lead salary review processes and collaborate with HRBPs to ensure consistent and equitable application across the organization.
Benefits Strategy & Management:
- Direct the design and administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
- Assess and recommend changes to benefits offerings to enhance employee engagement and retention while managing costs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, and COBRA.
- Manage vendor relationships, plan designs, and program performance with external vendors, brokers, and benefits consultants.
- Oversee benefits communications to ensure employees understand and value the offerings.
- Collaborate with senior executives and HR leadership to establish and align benefits strategy with corporate objectives.
- Chair the Investment Committee for retirement plans.
- Coordinate with HR to manage corporate benefit programs and collaborate with legal, finance, payroll, and senior management to enhance benefit plan efficiency and implementation. Apply competitive research and best practices to benefit programs.
- Assess and manage the impact of benefit plan changes on costs, other plans, and compliance.
- Lead research and analysis for benefit appeals and make decisions on policy exceptions. Chair the Benefits Appeals Committee.
Payroll Oversight:
- Manage payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation across all levels and locations.
- Oversee payroll systems for efficient and accurate wage calculations, tax withholdings, and compliance with tax laws.
- Collaborate with IT, HRIS, and other teams to optimize payroll technology solutions.
- Ensure payroll compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Direct payroll and timekeeping software management, including strategic development, maintenance, and automation of processes.
- Develop continuous process improvements to enhance payroll quality, efficiency, and internal controls, reducing fraud and errors. Collaborate with HR and Operations for seamless and consistent payroll processes in line with company policies.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of compensation, benefits, and payroll professionals, ensuring their ongoing development and success.
- Collaborate with HR leadership and other departments to ensure effective program / payroll implementation and cross-functional alignment.
- Lead the team in managing complex compensation, benefits or payroll projects, including acquisitions, mergers, and organizational restructuring.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Develop and provide regular reporting on compensation, benefits, and payroll metrics to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Monitor the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs through employee feedback, engagement surveys, and external benchmarking data.
- Manage annual open enrolment and compensation review cycles, ensuring process efficiency and accuracy.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance
- Minimum of 15 years of of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and payroll management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Domestic and international compensation experience
- Proven experience designing and managing complex compensation and benefits programs in large, multi-national organizations.
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) technologies.
- Thorough knowledge of compensation principles, pay practices, and executive compensation trends
- Must be knowledgeable in all regulatory, tax, accounting and financial implications of compensation plan design, including equity programs and executive compensation
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local compensation, benefits, and payroll regulations
- Extensive experience in the analysis, evaluation, design, development, and implementation of comprehensive compensation programs including salary management, incentives, bonus, sales compensation and performance management
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of building, managing, and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with
- executives and senior leaders.
- Must be comfortable in a constantly changing and challenging working environment, must be flexible and able to change directions at a moments notice.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.
