Senior Program Technician

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Cherokee Insights is seeking a Senior Program Support Technician to perform full range of tasks related to MICECP training and professional development IAW MICECP policy and regulations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000. Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Senior Program Technician Responsibilities Include:



  • Develop and deliver briefings, strategies, reports, plans, meeting notes, presentations, etc., to the government point of contact as directed by the MICECP Career Management Team.
  • Perform full range of Career Management/assignment data input, tracking support, and continuity services IAW MICECP policy and regulations.
  • Conduct in-depth review and analysis of MICECP employees' careers, based on aggregate record assignments and professional development/training data IAW MICECP policy and regulations.
  • Identify competencies, certification requirements, and developmental assignments that will assist the employees in the progression of their careers to satisfy key positions identified among supported customer units in HUMNIT, CI and five specific CI tracks.
  • Coordinate with the Career Program Manager section to recommend future assignments and training to ensure MICECP employees' developmental paths are aligned to overall force mission and talent management requirements.
  • Maintain the MICECP career management database, manning documents and any other tracking mechanism updated on a continuous basis (to ensure that MICECP program has the most up-to-date and correct data regarding MICECP members' careers.)
  • Create and ensure 100% of MICECP Civilian Personnel Record Briefs are up to date at all times.
  • Input data to the MICECP system of record and keep the system of record updated on a continuous basis.
  • Prepare and provide draft Individualized Career Development plans to the Career Program Manager for approval and coordination with MICECP career managers. Make changes as specified by the MICECP Career Management team.
  • Ensure the Career Program Manager section has the required information to coordinate with user unit MICECPs regarding Individual Development Plans (IDP) and that IDPs are continuously updated.
  • Draft and coordinate TDA actions including Billet Conversion and Re-conversion supporting documentation with appropriate AFSC staff ensuring changes are recorded on the MICECP manning documents and databases.
  • Draft memorandums, reports, and other required correspondence IAW AR 25-50.
  • Perform other related duties in support of MICECP recruitment and career management as directed by the Career Program Manager.
  • Plan and coordinate military and civilian Internal High Grade Hiring Boards as directed by the Career Program Manager.
  • Review and process MICECP High Grade employment applications within two duty days of receipt.
  • Advise and assist applicants regarding High Grade application processes IAW MICECP policy and regulations.
  • Assemble and maintain MICECP High Grade applicant packets
  • Manage applicants access to HireVue vacancy High Grade Vacancy announcement links and initiate HireVue announcements when required.
  • Work in conjunction with the MICECP HR team to move new High Grade hire actions through the staffing and onboarding process.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Senior Program Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive administrative experience, with a working knowledge of military policies, operational processes and considerations; ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in role(s) or organizations that provide Human Resource services to DoD or Department of Army Civilian Personnel and/or active duty military personnel.
  • Experience in a human resources profession which demonstrates the capability to perform a variety of recruitment support, employee relations support or personnel action processing functions.
  • Experience in military correspondence, policies or procedures, providing technical guidance on style, composition, and correct formats, organizing workload and master suspense logs, providing customer service.
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Database entry abilities
  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situation with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Experience in the organization of office files and documentation.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
