About the Hiring Group

RTI International seeks a prospect for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessment Internship within the Health Solutions business unit.

The Health Solutions' Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessment (PCOA) Team provides a comprehensive set of services to capture the patient voice in clinical trials, observational research, and clinical practice.

Internship Learning Objectives:

  • Develop ability to critically evaluate scientific publications
  • Receive training on how the patient-experience influences drug development
  • Grow knowledge in the US drug approval process

What You'll Do

The Intern will support research efforts focused on enhancing the quality of patient-reported outcomes in scientific publications related to cancer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out literature search related to reporting of tolerability in scientific journals
  • Investigate reporting of quality-of-life findings in cancer journals
  • Contribute to updating a slide-deck related to cancer-related tolerability

Additional Information

The virtual paid internship will take place from June 2025 through September 2025. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.

RTI's Internship Program emphasizes experiential and mentored learning experiences. Interns are exposed to the institute's mission to improve the human condition through projects, professional development trainings, and networking. Program participants have opportunities to engage with staff and fellow interns virtually and in-person.


What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate scientific degree program
  • Academic or professional experience in research methodology
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to be organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team setting
