The Department of Medicine (DoM) is the largest department within the UCSD School of Medicine (SoM) and is responsible for fulfilling its teaching, research, and clinical missions. DoM employees approximately 500 salaried faculty, nearly 200 academic appointees, and more than 300 residents, fellows, and postdocs, supported by almost 1,000 staff members. Under supervision, incumbent will assist and participate in molecular biology and cell/tissue culture work. Incumbent will support the laboratory and research initiatives under Dr. Goren. The position includes design and performance of PCR and quantitative real-time PCR experiments and associated data analysis as well as preparation of buffers and execution of sequencing experiments. Incumbent will consult and collaborate with principal investigator (PI) on experimental design, interpretation of results, and overall research direction. Incumbent will remain up to date on current literature and novel methods. In a similar manner to other members of the Goren Lab, incumbent will contribute to experiment planning, and protocol development as well as other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $55,374 - $66,064 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $26.52 - $31.64 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
