*Payroll Specialist*
(Hybrid - NYC) *We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist* to join our team. This is a full-time, onsite role in (Location), with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule (2-4 remote days per week) after completing training. This position is critical as we prepare for a temporary vacancy, ensuring smooth payroll operations during this time. *Key Qualifications:* * *Minimum 1 year of payroll experience with a proven track record.* * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. * Familiarity with Department of Labor laws. * Experience with payroll software (Paypro preferred) and timekeeping systems such as ZanData or SanData. * Exposure to processing payrolls, meeting deadlines, and handling escalations or phone inquiries. * *Experience in** homecare services is highly desirable.* *Core Responsibilities:* * Verify schedules, addressing issues such as missing clock-ins/outs and timesheet inconsistencies (3-4 hours daily). * Manually enter data for travel time, sick time, and other exceptions, with consistent follow-ups with coordination departments and union representatives. * Process and prepare payrolls, particularly during high-volume periods (Monday-Wednesday), managing 200+ timesheets and 200-300 exceptions weekly. * Handle approximately 20-30 escalated calls per week, ensuring clear communication and resolution. * Collaborate with Coordinating Supervisors to investigate and resolve overages, incorrect timekeeping, and billing concerns. * Assist in tax-related inquiries (e.g., W-2s) during influx periods. *Work Schedule:* * 9 AM-5 PM, Monday through Friday. * Onsite during training, with potential for remote work 2-4 days with proven track record *What We're Looking For:* The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a comprehensive understanding of payroll processes. *We're looking for someone with the expertise to hit the ground running-minimal training required.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes, are essential to succeed in this role *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
