Description
The Research Assistant will support an Orthopedic Surgeon and/or the Research Team to conduct study research project work and writing through literature searches and conducts research in accordance with federal, Institutional Review Board (IRB) and organizational guidelines. This is a full-time position working M-F out of our Edina and Eagan locations. This will be a temporary role likely spanning 1-2 years. This role is ideal for a medical student desiring to take a gap year or an undergraduate student applying to medical school. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection and data analysis
- Prepare presentation-quality charts and tables to include in project reports and power point presentations
- Write and present results of work in the form of abstracts, manuscripts and oral or poster presentations
- Assist with writing and proof-reading manuscripts and project reports
- Review professional publications from various sources to extract and summarize information relevant to assigned project and proposal work
- Support physicians with educational activities for meetings
- Performs data collection, analysis, reporting and presentation of quality improvement activities
- Data collection and data entry for retrospective and prospective studies
- Conduct independent research studies (clinical trials and outcome studies)
- Study compliance as it relates to the following entities; REVO, TCO, IRB, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Medicare, other regulatory agencies
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Medical Student in Health Services, Research or other related field

- Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required

- Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations

- Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Travel to other work locations, if required
