Senior Facilities Engineer

As a Facilities Engineer at Lam, you'll plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You'll work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts, and prepare contracts.

In addition, you will provide technical leadership, innovation, and guidance in the planning, design, configuration, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of gas and chemical delivery equipment & systems, Pump & Abatement units. Provide technical direction to R&D design engineers throughout the project conceptual design phase, interface with site user groups, other engineering disciplines, local municipalities and/or utilities, trade contractors, and other project stakeholders as required.

• Responsible for site facility specialty and bulk gas and chemical infrastructure design and operations and owns results associated with their decisions.
• Develops, maintains, and updates Lam's technical specifications for facilities process equipment and systems.
• Knowledgeable expert to provide engineering solutions to Project Management team and Operations team for new process tool gas and chemicals, from safe delivery to effective post process gas and chemical abatement.
• Leads technical review of projects concerning process systems, including tool installation and infrastructure projects to ensure proper design and adherence to Lam requirements.
• Support Chemical Request Form/Chemical Information Management System review and approval process.
• Ensure contractor installations reflect internal documentation for systems within their area of responsibility.
• Identifies facilities infrastructure and process equipment improvements.
• Responsible for quarterly tracking, monitoring, and reporting of systems capacity and operating capabilities and uptime for facilities systems managed.
• Travel to Fremont CA campus and other Lam Research sites may be required.

• Bachelor's degreein Chemical engineering or Mechanical engineering.
• Eight (8)years industrial designwork experience in the semiconductor industry (Wafer fab), including Specialty gas systems, point of use gas abatement systems, Bulk gas and chemical systems design.
• Working knowledge of specialty and bulk gas distribution system.
• Must possess advanced troubleshooting skills which support core responsibilities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, and ability to effectively work with internal technical staff.
• Knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and Sequence of Operations for process systems.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of SPC, 8D, DMAIC, FMEA and other design tools.
• Experience leading operating engineers and/or technicians in a facility or manufacturing setting.
• Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures for process systems.
• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to work off hours and/or weekends if needed to support project deliverables on time while ensuring highest quality standards.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
