Allan Hancock College is College is accepting applications for part-time academic counselors for all district locations to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future vacancies. The work schedule will include evening and weekend assignments. In its desire to select outstanding faculty members from the largest possible pool of qualified applicants, Allan Hancock College recognizes candidates may have attained expertise in a discipline through a variety of means. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged by the district as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for this position. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications are encouraged to complete the equivalency form and provide appropriate documentation of their qualifications.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students, and to staff and students with disabilities. Demonstrated ability in serving diverse high school/incoming student populations. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills desired.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling, OR the equivalent per Board Policy 7211

SALARY: Lecture Rate: $65.74 to $86.44 per hour depending upon education and experience Lab Rate: $57.27 to $75.26 per hour depending upon education and experience Activity Rate: $37.13 to $50.62 per hour depending upon education and experience
