Join our team at SG360 as Forklift Driver responsible for operating a fork-lift safely for the purpose of moving finished goods from designated locations at the pressroom to the outbound staging areas, moving packaging supplies from staging areas to designated locations at the pressroom, and loading/unloading trucks with finished goods and other material. Job Duties include:
- Load or unload material from trucks using a fork lift/clamp truck, manual jack, or dolly.
- Operate trailer locking, dock plate equipment, overhead doors, and banding/wrapping equipment.
- Receive packaging supplies such as paper, corrugated boxes, skids, and mail trays. Verify supplies match the bill of lading, inspect for damage, confirm counts, and stage supplies in packaging supply staging areas.
- Deliver blank stock to pressroom as requested.
- Document all paper movement on index cards.
- Moves finished goods, packaging supplies from staging areas to designated locations in warehouse as needed.
- Move finished goods from pressroom area assist in wrapping, banding and weighing of material being shipped.
- Prepare finished loads for shipment, including labeling, record keeping and transfer to carrier.
- Prepare scrap material loads for outbound shipment, including paperwork and other records or reports.
- Assist in warehouse, scale and dock area housekeeping.
- Store materials in a neat and orderly fashion in the warehouse
- Count and assist in maintaining paper inventory, pallet tops, wrap, cartons, labels, banding materials and other related materials used to ship product.
- Inspect lift truck at start of shift, fill out inspection ticket and perform shift maintenance.
- Assist shipping clerks and administrative assistant as needed.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements Job Knowledge and Education:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to operate a propane powered or electric forklift and/or clamp truck.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents.
- Average English oral and written communication skills and math skills.
- Average typing and computer skills.
- Average interpersonal and telephone skills.
Experience:
- Must have one (1) to three (3) of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and material handling experience including experience operating a forklift/clamp truck.
- Prior experience in operating a forklift/clamp truck preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Physical Requirements:
- Full motion/motor skills in all body parts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
