Macmillan Learning is seeking an energetic candidate who brings enthusiasm and vitality to our Student Engagement Account Manager, Team Lead role. The Team Lead for the Student Engagement Account Managers is responsible for supporting efforts and initiatives of the Specialist Manager, selling iClicker, student retention solutions and institution based solutions, through course-level sales, within an assigned territory of two and four-year accounts. Primary responsibilities include working collaboratively with Enterprise Solution Specialists and Client Relationship specialists, initiating sales engagement with potential customers, generating leads for new business, managing pipeline, and providing demos and training to new and existing customers at the course level, helping to develop new markets. The focus is primarily on cultivating new takeaway customers.

The Student Engagement Account Manager will occasionally travel to campus to conduct presentations, training sessions and events, as needed and in collaboration with the Enterprise Solutions Specialists, Client Relation Specialists and Macmillan Learning sales team. This role has managerial responsibilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Collaborate and communicate with Enterprise Solutions Specialist to generate leads, conduct account research, support customers and develop team-based sales strategies
  • Provide ongoing research and feedback on classroom technology trends to stakeholders, including sales, marketing and product teams
  • Serve as the expert for inside sales activities by mentoring, sharing best practices and providing feedback to the Specialist Manager
  • Follow-up on closed/lost opportunities in Macmillan courses to promote standalone iClicker sales


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 2 years inside sales experience or equivalent experience with proven track record
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate via phone and email and conduct virtual product demonstrations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, energetic, and a positive attitude


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Enterprise sales experience
  • SaaS sales experience
  • Manager experience


Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/year

Exemption Status: Exempt

Physical Requirements:

Requires periods of close concentration, must be able to multitask, must lift 35 lbs. of books on sales calls, must be able to walk up to 2 miles a day on campus, must be able to sit/stand for long periods at conventions, must be able to concentrate in noisy/busy environment, and must be able to travel, including ability to drive for periods from 2 to 5 hours, depending upon the territory involved. A valid driver's license is required with daily travel within territory and frequent overnight trips. Attendance at national sales meetings and regional meetings is required (5 or more days). During the fall and spring selling seasons it is necessary to work more than 40 hours per week. During these seasons it is necessary to spend all day on campus and then complete paperwork, sampling, and expense reports in the evening.

This position is eligible for remote employment, excluding the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming.
