In order to be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Clerical Associate, or must have filed for the Open Competitive Clerical Associate Exam #3971 or be eligible under the 55a program.

NYCDOT is seeking to hire a Clerical Associate L4 to encompass clerical and related office activities at Signal Timing and Intersection Control Unit (STIC) under Traffic Operations Division. The candidate will be under supervision, utilize manual and an automated office system to perform clerical and related work. Under the direction of the Director and the Deputy Director of Intersection Control Unit, with limited latitude for independent judgement, the Clerical Associate will prepare response to Traffic Signal and All-Way requests based on information in Agency Response Tracking Systems (ARTS) and Signal Work Order Tracking System (SWOTS). The Clerical Associate's duties will include: prepare various types of response letters, scan files; check records for accuracy of information and for conformity with established policy and procedures; maintain related library files; coordinate with other internal units, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Preferred Skills

-Excellent communication (oral and written).
-Pay attention to details.
-The ability to adapt and handle work assignments in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
-Knowledge of MS office: Work, Excel, Power point, and Outlook.
