Laboratory Paid Summer Intern - Blood Bank

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This job provides a unique opportunity for an individual to work for the summer in the Blood Bank section of the clinical pathology laboratory. Candidates must have at least 3 years of college education in a clinical lab science field or equivalent, possess strong organizational skills, and be self-motivated. Appropriate training will be provided to perform a limited menu of laboratory tests. This position has an ideal start date of 5/12/25 or 5/27/25 and has up to 12 weeks of employment. The hourly wage is $26.76.

Additional job details: Performs data entry associated with component modification, labeling, storage, issuing and shipping ensuring accurate and complete records. Operates, maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment. Performs the quarantine and disposition of unacceptable blood components and/or specimens. Maintains inventory of reagents and blood products.

EDUCATION:

Three years of college with an emphasis in science.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous laboratory experience preferred.
