In the role of Technical Editor, we'll count on you to:

  • Edit and format technical documents (mainly environmental analyses and federal grant applications, but also proposals and other types of documents).
  • Edit documents for spelling, punctuation, and grammar plus style, flow, clarity, conciseness, organization, voice, and user focus.
  • Format documents in Microsoft Word according to an existing template.
  • Have strong skills in consistency and attention to detail.
  • Work with the author to better understand assumptions or logic if needed to resolve edits.
  • Have an analytical mindset and suggest ways to make a document better, not just correct.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NEPA environmental documents
  • Experience with federal grant applications
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years technical editing experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of Adobe and InDesign
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
