Overview

The Junior Software Developer is a team member in the provision oftechnical development and system design. TheJunior Software Developer will learn to support the design and creation of technical specifications from functional specifications for complex development projects, and translate those into working software to meet the client's requirements. The team member will eventually have proficiency in PeopleCode, Application Designer, Phyre, JIRA and other technical tools used on the Navy Personnel and Pay (NP2) project. NP2 is personnel and pay system based on a PeopleSoft 9.2 solution utilizing the HCM, FSCM, and Global Payroll modules.

    Translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Assist and perform technical and functional design and development.
  • Assist Functionals in the creation of the Business Process Models
  • Resolve issues that arise during development.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure quality implementation.
  • Create Unit Test documentation for the testing team
  • Prepare detailed technical design documentation.
  • Demo newly created software to the client and peers
  • Update tracking/metric software for work being done accurately and on time
  • Assist and perform software code development; COTS software configuration; Integration; Data modeling and data migration, Testing and test support; Implementation/Deployment.
  • Write well-documented code in compliance with established coding standards.
  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.

Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.

The candidate should expect to learn the following skills:

  • Ability to learn Oracle SQL and PeopleSoft technical tools to develop web-based software.
  • Ability to learn one or more PeopleSoft application modules and integration between modules.
  • Additional capabilities of Microsoft Office including potentially Visio.

Education and Experience:

  • Ability to learn and utilize PeopleSoft Enterprise development tools including Application Packages, PeopleCode, PeopleTools, Workflow, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, and the Microsoft Office Suite including the possibility of Visio.
  • This position prefers a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent relevant business experience.
  • The successful candidate will be hired into an entry level position.

Clearance: A background investigation at the T3 level is required, as this is not currently a classified position. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Work Location: Work location will be in Arlington, Virginia 2 days on-site with a hybrid option.
