Job Summary:
The Retail Market Manager provides supervision of retail branches within a designated region and is responsible for overall compliance with policies and procedures in accordance with the Bank and supervisor's direction. This role involves leading and developing a team of branch managers to enhance customer and team experiences, manage risks, and support growth across multiple branch locations. The position requires strategic oversight of branch performance, collaboration with partners, and a focus on talent development to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of branch managers and retail staff to ensure an exceptional customer and team experience.
- Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities while ensuring compliance with regulations and operational expectations.
- Determine appropriate strategies and actions for the regional banking team to meet branch objectives.
- Interpret and implement branch performance objectives, driving transformational changes in the region.
- Collaborate with partners and peers to understand business trends and execute strategies aligned with internal goals while managing risk.
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Regional Banking.
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives.
- Ensure adequate staffing and equipment for branches within the region, monitoring all maintenance service calls on equipment and physical site issues.
- Ensure compliance with all security procedures in the branches.
- Supervise Branch Managers and Universal Banker/Teller operations for accuracy, efficiency, and quality customer service.
- Resolve operational issues as needed and conduct monthly manager meetings.
- Work with the Corporate Trainer to ensure adequate training for all retail staff.
- Develop and motivate staff to meet performance levels and conduct annual performance reviews.
- Conduct teller cash drawer audits and assist in locating errors or outages.
- Assist in the recovery of losses due to fraud.
- Participate in a team effort to cross-sell bank and affiliate products and services.
- Monitor various reports for potential check kiting, fraud, and negative balances.
- Ensure the accuracy of new and existing deposit accounts by reviewing account documentation.
- Serve as the designated IRA specialist, working closely with the data processor on reporting issues.
- Assist customers with setting up and promoting online banking products and Cash Management Services.
- Coordinate with other Retail Market Managers and Regional Directors to ensure consistency in operations bank-wide.
- Identify opportunities to improve teller and customer service skills.
- Seek cost-saving opportunities and improved ways to service customers in all areas of deposit operations.
- May organize community corporate events, school savings programs, and coordinate the Advisory Board.
- May function as the Security Coordinator.
- May analyze and recommend regional deposit rates, bid for government/public funds investments, and develop non-profit and foundation accounts.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 6+ years of banking, financial services, or branch network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 3+ years of management experience.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
