Carnegie Mellon University's Department ofAthletics is searching for aPart-Time Assistant Football Coach (Defense) in its NCAA Division III program. This is an exciting opportunityfor someone whothrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You willcontributeto the department by providing assistance to the head coach with all aspects of the football program. The position will start as soon as possible, with the spring term running from the hire date until April 30, 2025. Otherwise, it is a part-time, seasonal role from August 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrate competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach

  • Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing sport programs goals set by head coach

  • Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes

  • Recruit potential student athletes via phone, email or personal contact

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

  • 1-3 years athletic coaching experience; knowledge of computer software for film breakdown and recruiting is highly desired

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

  • Successful background check

  • Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)

  • Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)
